Quick season recap incoming! Jazeman, Weiron and Daniel break down the first six races of the season and share their opinions on the rookies' performance so far, the rumors of a Charles-Lewis swap and Aston Martin's (well, mostly Alonso) meteoric rise as a force to be reckoned with.
Canadian Grand Prix Recap! With Verstappen's win claiming Redbull’s 100th victory and equaling Senna’s tally, it’s no doubt that he’s on a trajectory like no other at his young age. But will he fizzle out early? The boys also talk about Albon’s faultless defence and stunning finish for Williams, Russell literally binning his race and de Vries’s possible replacement in the upcoming silly season (Liam Lawson is knocking on his door...).
What was with all that track limits mess at this weekend's Austrian Grand Prix? Daniel, Jazeman and Weiron also discuss Lance Stroll becoming 'Canada's highest scoring F1 driver of all time', a sus Kazakh businessman buying a stake in Silverstone-based HiTech Global Holdings Limited, and the tragic passing of Dilano van't Hoff at Spa-Francorchamps.
At this point, is Checo having a laugh? The boys break down the British Grand Prix, where McLaren had a triumphant weekend, Nyck de Vries absolutely binning it for the umpteenth time (yes, we'll talk about his replacement in the next episode) and Ferrari's neverending strategy disasters.
Now that Nyck De Vries has gotten the boot from AlphaTauri and Danny Ric is back in business, what does this mean with regard to the bigger picture concerning Yuki Tsunoda and Checo Perez?
Zhou catastrophically bottling his start and causing the opening lap collision was the stuff of nightmares for Alfa Romeo. While Dan's having a field trip abroad, Jazeman and Weiron bring on replacement hosts and F1 fanatics, Armand and Mahathir, to discuss the Hungarian Grand Prix. Lando's stunning finish, Horner and Newey 'blasphemous' offer to jump to Ferrari, and Danny Ric chasing after Checo's seat. By the way, has anyone checked up on Aston Martin lately?
Not Alpine booting Team Principal Otmar Szafnauer, Sporting Director Alan Permane and Chief Technical Officer Pat Fry right at the start of summer. Did Lewis deserve the five-second time penalty after his clash with Checo during the sprint race? Was Piastri's retirement at the race start down to a bad pre-emptive move on Piastri's part, or the upgrades McLaren made?
Just because the boys are technically 'news pundits', doesn't mean that they're not funny. Fun fact: our pre-recording briefings take an hour long sometimes because they can be pure chaos. Since F1 is on summer break and the producer wants to just stir the pot and expose them, you'll get a cheeky blooper reel instead this week. Enjoy.
We're back from summer break with a chunky episode, covering all there is to know about the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort. The boys talk about Liam Lawson's debut, Alonso maybe holding back from overtaking Max, Checo's disappointing performance (again, sigh) and more.
Imagine Fernando Alonso being your teammate, and you're just not pulling your weight. The Italian Grand Prix, Ferrari's home race, was nothing short of exciting. The boys talk about the Tifosi, Albon's stunning race, Lance Stroll constantly ending up in P-Nowhere.
So, is everyone's ringtone switched to Smooth Operator? The boys invite Malaysian racing driver Nazim Azman to share his insights on driving at this notoriously difficult track, in the hopes that it will shed some light on how George Russell and Lance Stroll could have binned it this race. Afterall, when it rains, it Singa-pours.
Doesn't quite hit the same when your team's just won the Constructors' Championship but you've just had to retire your car, does it, Checo? The Japanese Grand Prix was nothing short of dramatic, from McLaren turning in another performance to the beef between Russell and Hamilton. Also, Sargeant's seat might be up for grabs next season at this rate, anyone want in?
Now, we're no stranger to seeing F1 drivers' having bad attitude, but Stroll's behaviour at the Qatar Grand Prix was unacceptable. It was a muggy weekend at Losail, with most of the drivers describing it as one of the toughest races they've done in their lives. Jazeman and Daniel bring on their producer Yasmin to break down everything that happened over at Qatar.
And we're back in Austin, the second American stop of the entire season (and yet another sprint weekend that we're going to endeavour to explain about again). The boys take a closer look at Hamilton and Leclerc's disqualifications, Ricciardo's comeback race and Perez's continuous decline.
Checo just couldn't turn things around even at his home race, and Danny Ric is hot on his heels. The Mexico Grand Prix saw Hamilton showing his competitive side again with guns blazing, Aston Martin's 2 DNFs and a number of reserve drivers showcasing their skills.
We're not sure what was the bigger car crash: Leclerc in the formation lap or Martin Brundle & Machine Gun Kelly's awkward grid interview. The boys talk about Norris almost outdoing Verstappen, the 5 DNF's of the race and Perez missing out on a desperately-needed third place.
Sin City was nothing short of over the top and extravagant, as was expected, but it couldn't get away without criticism. Dan and Weiron chat about their thoughts on having 3 American races (and an additional street circuit in the calendar), Leclerc clinching second-place after a last-lap lunge at Checo and the water valve cover incident during FP1.
Carlos, we're just going to write this one off (again), but in spite of that at least you're not left wondering if you've got a seat next year, unlike some. The boys wrap up the 2023 season with a rundown of the last race of the season, debating Logan Sargeant's future in F1 and more.
Happy New Year everyone. Now that we're at the end of the season, and while waiting on our post-season review, here is the Blooper Reel for the second half of the season, specially handpicked by our producer.
The season may have already ended but who says that shakeups won't happen? Dan and Jazeman break down their favorite races of the season and their predictions for the upcoming season.
